On April 29, the Day of Romanian Army Veterans was solemnly commemorated in Micleușeni, Republic of Moldova, through a military-religious ceremony held at the Cemetery of Honor for Romanian Soldiers. This significant day serves as a reminder of the sacrifices made for the independence and dignity of the Romanian people.

The event gathered local authorities, community members, historians, priests, and youth, alongside honored guests from Romania, symbolizing the fraternal bond and shared respect for the heroes of the past.

The ceremony began with the Romanian national anthem and a memorial religious service for the fallen heroes. Wreaths and flowers were laid at the central monument, followed by a moment of silence in honor of the soldiers.

In her speech, the mayor of Micleușeni, Rodica Butnaru, expressed heartfelt gratitude: "Today, we bow our heads to those who gave the ultimate sacrifice – their lives – so that Romania could remain home to millions of Romanians. It is our duty to preserve their memory, honor their sacrifice, and pass on the truth about their courage and love for the homeland to future generations."

Local school students performed an emotional patriotic program, featuring poems and songs that honored the soldiers’ heroism. These moments deeply moved the attendees, reminding them that “Romanian soil was soaked in blood” and that many soldiers never returned home.

The ceremony served as a testament to unity and gratitude, showing that the memory of the heroes will never fade. The Cemetery of Honor in Micleușeni stands not only as a place of eternal rest but also as a symbol of national pride and remembrance.
